Size guide
Which size, and where it hangs
Every canvas is printed to order at the size you choose. A photograph cannot show size, so this page draws every size we print to scale, against the furniture it suits and against a six-foot person.
Four rules interior designers use
- Centre at eye level. The middle of the canvas sits about 57–60″ from the floor on a bare wall.
- Close to the furniture. Above a sofa, bed or console, leave 6–10″ between the furniture and the canvas, so the two read as one group.
- Two-thirds to four-fifths as wide. A canvas looks right at 66–85% of the width of the furniture below it — measured across its back, not its footprint.
- Under the door line. Keep the top of the canvas under 80″, the height of a standard door header. The largest sizes are statement pieces for a wall of their own.
